PRAIRIE VIEW, Tex. – The Prairie View A&M University tennis program will hold a three-week camp on campus during the month of July.The camp will be conducted on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from July 13 to July 30 at the tennis courts on the William Nicks Intramural and Athletic complex from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.The camp will be open to boys and girls ages between the ages of five to 17. Prairie View A&M University head tennis coach John Cochran, who guided the men’s team to the SWAC Tournament finals this past season, along with selected members from the Panther men’s and women’s tennis team will teach campers the basic techniques and fundamentals as it relates to tennis. Camp fees are $40 per child and each camper will receive a certificate, junior tennis racket and t-shirt. Although the camp will provide each participant a tennis racket, campers are welcomed to bring their own personal rackets.
“We are looking forward to giving young people an opportunity to learn the game, improve their motor skills and make friendships that will last a lifetime,” said Cochran.
