This past weekend, the Lady Panthers volleyball team hosted the Prairie View Invitational Volleyball Tournament. The teams that participated in this weekend’s tournament were Centenary College, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Texas Southern University, and our Prairie View Lady Panthers.
The ladies opened the tournament Friday morning, playing Arkansas-Pine Bluff, easily defeating them three games to zero.
Prairie View completely dominated all three matches with excellent defense and offense with a total of 97 attacks to APB’s 73. The Lady Panthers were intense and displayed excellent teamwork. By the end of all three games, the Panthers had more attacks, blocks, and kills and fewer errors to defeat Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Offensive leaders in game one for APB were Sharliese Kendrick and Latoya Chanay-Steele, both with an attack percentage of .333 and Satin Scott with a percentage of .250.
Offensive leaders for PVAMU were Shannon Harrison with a percentage of .579, Tamika Neuman-.533, Jamesha Sutton-.370 percent.
