We all have our bad days. I know how it is to feel like the world is on your shoulders. I can recall days when I’ve had to pick up Africa, ride in the car with California, and drop off Miami at the beach. However, one thing I try to make sure I do is keep a positive attitude. There are a lot of good things I can say about the staff here at Prairie View. Sometimes they are really nice people, ready to aid you in any way possible. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.
If anyone took the time to talk to the students, they would realize how many of us are dissatisfied with the customer service here at the university.
Being a student is not easy. You have to deal with tests, your family, social life, work, homework, and your personal life all at the same time. The last thing we want to do is receive an attitude from the lady behind the desk where we are trying to get help. Sometimes I wonder if they realize we are the ones who pay their bills. Think about it. If there were no students, there would be no Prairie View.
I’m not suggesting that staff should bow down and kiss the feet of a rude, ignorant student who doesn’t have his or her stuff together. I’m just saying we as a world need to learn how to treat each other.
Lending a helping hand should be something we want to do. I have never understood why people have a problem with helping each other. When we learn to embrace each other with care and concern, we will gain all. Treating a person a certain way shouldn’t be about a paycheck. It should be about a yearning to fulfill a desire to help others.
