Embracing the unexpected

Many seniors, including myself, have been questioning life after college. What is our biggest fear? Is it the fear of being unemployed? Or fear of being alone? Maybe it’s fear of being rejected by society. Or it could be the big question- what is my purpose?

Instead of making New Year’s resolutions, my epiphany and prayer for everyone is to let go. Let go of all baggage and fears and let God handle your battles.

When we try to solve our problems on our own and fulfill our dreams, we end up in deeper despair than we were before. If you totally surrender yourself to the hands of God, you’ll have inner peace and things that troubled you before will no longer exist.

Instead of working towards wealth and fame, ask for power. Power to realize that wealth and fame has already been created in you although you haven’t recognized it. Some dreams and miracles have been birthed for you by God but he hasn’t manifested them in your life because either- 1. You’re not ready for them or 2. You don’t need them yet. This means God has not brought you to that place in your life where he feels you are ready to receive these blessings. In other words, you’re not worthy yet.

Trust me, I know letting go won’t be easy, but it has to be done. If you’re complaining now about life and its problems, do as the elders say and “keep livin’.” It doesn’t get any easier. Remember you have to crawl before you walk.

I know this may sound like a sermon, but I felt the need to write these words. Embrace the unexpected and become fearless. The desires of your heart will unfold in due time.

This year, I choose to let go, let God, and live beyond my wildest dreams. Maybe you should do the same. I wonder where they will take you.
