Where’s the party?

I thought Prairie View was a party school. In high school that’s all I heard about. Students who had already graduated from high school and came to school here, used to always say, “ya’ll need to go to Prairie View, there are parties everywhere, and ten girls for every male, and you’ll never get bored.” I even came down here my senior year and experienced it for myself. I went to the PV vs. TSU game, and the Babydome was packed from wall to wall I mean every row was filled, people could not find a seat. After the game, there was a party, it was just off the chain, besides somebody going to the hospital afterwards, but from that point on I was like, “I’m going to PV.” The school seemed like a never ending party that weekend, now it seems like that was all just a figment of my imagination.

Well, I came to PV and all of my hopes and dreams were shut down. Don’t get me wrong now, I have had my share of fun stories to pass down to my children, but it’s just not what I expected.

When I think about it all the fun stopped when Alumni Hall was torn down, that was the kick it spot during my freshman year.

I know that I probably should spend more time studying and preparing for life after college. I do study, but I’m trying to find out where it’s about to go down?

I went to the Grambling game the other Saturday and there had to be only 800 people in there, I was like “we don’t have any school spirit.” It was just boring, or maybe it’s just me.

After the game my partners and I did what we always do, provide our own entertainment, in 332, Phase I. We do it real big every now and then, but can the school step in and provide us with some after class activities? I’m getting tired of the same ole events.

Student Activities, school organizations, or the neighborhood party throwers need to step it up, because I’m starting to think twice about coming up here as an alumnus.
