Who all watched the slam dunk contest on Saturday? I know most of ya’ll were at the step show….well I was too, but I still taped it.It was a little entertaining but there still was something or someone missing, Lebron James perhaps.
Although James didn’t participate, certain players did come with dunks never seen or reinvented. For instance, when Amare Stoudemire tossed the ball off of Steve Nash’s head and then caught the ball for an alley-oop. That dunk was obviously the highlight of the night, everything else was basically trash.
I really don’t care who won it, I mean, he obviously had hops, but his dunks weren’t that spectacular.
All the sports networks have been saying this lately and they’re right. The dunk contest needs to get back to when the best players in the NBA participated, like Jordan, Dominique, and Nance. Players that are Hall of Fame bound.
I was very disappointed when Lebron backed out, maybe he was a little scared, but next year, there needs to be a change.
Even if the winner needs to be offered $1 million dollars, the NBA has the money. A purse like that up for grabs is a nice incentive, and I bet that all the big names would want a piece of that pie, maybe even Kobe, and McGrady…Lebron “fashow”.
Now that’ll really be something to see, with all three of them competing in the dunk contest.
