On April 5, students will elect their 2005-2006 president, vice president, and comptroller. When voting for a candidate running for president, I will expect that person to be dedicated to the work of meeting student needs, available to students to express their concerns, and open to student opinions. I seek to elect a president who will work with faculty and administration to bring about a much-needed change on the campus. I want my SGA president to be a strong voice, for myself and my peers, a president who will work to support my ideas, and who will not display a passive demeanor when faced with controversy, or pressure. I will also expect the president to be very conscious of the needs of PV students. Someone who knows the struggles of student son this campus and who can identify with their needs. My president will need to know the student body, and know what is most important to them. I believe that work without dedication is useless. A president with dedication will work with students and administration to make PV a better place for everyone.
PV needs a president who will truly work for the students. The job of president should not be based on popularity, but a vote for a sincere and concerned individual who is willing to work for the student body.
I do not endorse a specific candidate. But I can assure you that my vote will go to the one who make me the most comfortable at PV, and whose dedication to the work brings about success, and satisfaction for my fellow peers and me.
