A black person’s mentality has been compared to putting a number of crabs in a bucket. Every time one makes it near the top, there is always one to pull him down.This subject has been addressed on many occasions, but it still goes on, and is seen day by day among this generation. It comes in the form of ‘snitches’ and ‘hatas’ that are fueled by vengeance, anger, envy, and cowardice.
It’s really not our fault. We, as a whole, have been backstabbing our own since the Civil Rights Movement, slavery, and even during biblical times. Judas betrayed Jesus by giving up his whereabouts, snitching to the Romans for silver, which ultimately cost Jesus his life. Cain even killed his twin brother, Abel, because of jealousy.
This matter will never cease. Rapper Christopher Wallace once said, “the more money you get, the more problems you have, and jealousy and envy is just something that comes with the territory.” This hatred for the ones who are at the top is what made Tupac’s monicker All Eyes on Me. Everyone is watching and waiting for that one moment when you are down, so they can kick you and use it to their advantage, but its not gonna work this time. In this day and age only the strong survive, and the weak attempt to align forces and attack the strong, but I again say “it’s not gonna work!”
It’s a long journey to the top, some are going to settle for less but an elite few will continue on and be hated by those who failed to rise to the occasion. Those elites are stronger mentally, which gives them the ability to maintain their positions. This is what makes kings, legends, and today’s leaders.
Change is coming very soon, and some are working hard to succeed in life and achieve their goals. I challenge you to challenge yourself, a revolution is near, and its impact will be reminiscent of those before us.
