Track member flustered by lack of team coverage

Quick question… I am a PVAMU track athlete and I was wondering why there are so few articles and reports on the track team. This is not my first year posing this question and I can’t seem to find an answer. The last time I asked one of the editors, the person made me feel like I only wanted self-promotion because I am on the team. Sure PV relays makes the paper every year; but there was nothing about our SWAC indoor championships back in February, at which many Panthers won All-Conference honors. There was also nothing mentioned about the team’s performance at TSU relays or at Sam Houston. No knock against other Prairie View sports, but it seems that after winning the SWAC Cross Country championships last semester, track and field would be getting a little more attention than we do. Prairie View’s 4X400M relay qualified for the NCAA regional championships for the first time in three years, bettering the qualifying time of 3:10.00 two weeks in a row both at PV Relays and at Texas Relays with times of 3:09.27 and 3:09.00. The 4X100M relay has also qualified for the NCAA regionals, bettering the qualifying time of 40.66. Would it be too much to ask for a picture of the relay teams and at least some recognition and congratulations for their achievement? Or is this a feature we have to pay for?
