Lady Panthers emerge victorious over UAPB

The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers’ season is well underway and Coach Alicia Pete and her team seem to be fine tuned for success. The Panthers hosted the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on Sept. 13 in double header action, winning both matches in dominating fashion 3-1 and 3-0 respectively.
“Our team played well tonight offensively,” said Pete. “We’ll need to improve defensively in some areas, but overall I was very pleased with the way they performed. True freshman Shaun Williams played great before injuring her leg. Brandy Johnson, Crystal Stigler and Tamika Newman stepped up and gave us outstanding efforts tonight as well.”The Lady Panthers notched their first two conference wins of the year beginning what looks to be a challenging journey as they prepare to travel to face divisional powerhouses Southern, Grambling State and Texas Southern in the upcoming weeks.
