This weekend the soccer game between the Lady Panthers and Alcorn State was filled with exciting moments as well as disappointments. The game took place on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, with a final score of 9-0 sending fans into an uncontrollable cheering frenzy.
The ladies scored six of their points before the end of the first half. The final score of nine was the highest amount of points during a game for this season.
One of the highlight players of this game was Anna Rabino, who scored three goals during the first half. Brenda Castillo and Amanda Collins followed with two, and four other Lady Panthers each had one goal.
After winning the game, the ladies were on a two game winning streak until Sunday, Oct. 21, when they faced Mississippi Valley State, with the game ending in total defeat. The final score for this game was 0-7.
This game was completely full of misunderstandings between referees and coaches as numerous calls were given. Our ladies put up a tough fight, however, they were unable to conquer their opponents.
For the last game of the regular season, our ladies will attempt to defeat Texas Southern on Friday, Oct. 26 noon, at home.
