The Lady Panthers continued to dominate the SWAC as they took on Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Thursday, Oct 18, at the William J. Nicks Building.
The Lady Panthers have yet to lose a home game, and don’t plan on losing any time soon. With a 14-6 lead for the Lady Panthers in the first set, they went on to win with a score of 30-16.
Having lost the first set, UAPB wasn’t going to leave without a fight, as they came within 25-21 in the second set. The Lady Panthers buckled down and won with a score of 30-22. The last set was the icing on the cake as the Lady Panthers won 30-25, making the Lady Lions give up and lose their confidence. The Lady Panthers’ defense continues to dismantle opponents, as there were no ties or lead changes throughout all of the three matches.
Senior outside hitter TaCho Richard continued to elevate her game as she led the team with 13 kills. Senior Tamika Newman was right behind Richard as she contributed with 10 kills. Senior setter Laura de la Fuente continued to rack up assists, as she led the team with 31 assists, more than all of the Arkansas Pine-Bluff’s players combined.
