Prairie View students piled into the Willie Albert Tempton Memorial Student Center ballroom March 26 for a night of thrills and adventure, as they moved from table to table at Casino Night.
A part of SpringFest, Casino Night provided students with music from a live DJ as they entered the ballroom that Campus Activities Board transformed into a casino.
Volunteers dressed in black and white attire to assist students at the entrance. Each student was given a ticket to receive chips to play the casino games. Students had their choice of poker, black jack, roulette, slot machines, and craps.
Despite the fact that students did not receive money or prizes for winning, they were still excited to play the games.
“I enjoyed casino night,” Ashlei Caldwell, a psychology major, said. “The atmosphere made me feel like I was in a real casino and I was very surprised about the turn out.”
Dealers were present to help students play the games. The PV Dolls performed as show girls for the night, while volunteers waited on students, serving virgin drinks.
Accounting major, Danyelle Kendricks, enjoyed the overall setup of casino night.
“I really liked how everything looked,” she said, “and those drinks were on point.”
