From Sunday, Sept. 20 to Tuesday, Sept. 22, the Prairie View A&M men and women golf teams took part in the Mississippi Valley State University River Classic in Greenville, Miss. The women of PVAMU continued their dominance on the golf course from last year with a stellar performance from junior Peni Sanjoto, who shot 85 and an 87. Senior Aziza Glass also had an outstanding showing by posting an 85 and 93 at the two-day tournament. Consequently, the Lady Panthers finished first in the team standings with Sanjoto and Glass ending one and two, respectively.
The men finished the tournament in third place on the heels of UAPB and Alabama A&M. The men also had a good tournament led by sophomore Joseph Daly, who shot an 84 and an 81, while freshman Avery Campbell played well on both days and locked down an 85, 84.
The golf teams now prepare for their next event in Alexandria, La., hosted by Grambling State.
