Hispanic heritage honored

Director of arts and architecture Clarence Talley and Professor Anne Johnson performed notable lectures in a series that highlighted the importance of Hispanic art in honor of Hispanic Heritage month at Prairie View A&M University on Oct. 14 in the architectural auditorium.

Highlighting the legacy of two of the most prolific painters of all time, the series focused on the work of Kahlo and Rivera. Talley speaking on behalf of the work of Rivera and Johnson highlighting the work of Kahlo. Director of multicultural affairs Elma Gonzalez said that the purpose of this lecture is to educate students and offer an opportunity to gain information that is not taught in the classroom, or found in textbooks.

These cultural art works can be found on the 1st and 4th floor of the library near Jazzmin’s Cafe.
