Memorial held for Wade

The Campus Activities Board, Student Government Association, and National Pan-Hellenic members led students around campus on Thursday, Nov. 5, to march in a peace rally memorial to pay tribute to late junior biology major Donnie Wade.

Students at the rally embraced the opportunity to connect with other students. The students marched from the flagpoles at the entrance of the school to the fountain on the hill holding candles in Wade’s remembrance.

“One candle lit the next to show unity. It was a process to start healing. The campus needs healing, ” Dean Charles Lewter said when asked about the role of the candles in the ceremony.

Trenton J. Johnson, vice president of student government association, said, “The vigil was not only an opportunity to remember the lives of fallen Panthers, but also a chance for us to unite as Panthers during these difficult times.”
