Students In Free Enterprise administered the first Hip Hop Expo Meet and Greet Artist Form in the MSC Nov. 3.
The guest panelists included local artists and producers including C-Stone, Teddy B, DJ Mr. Rogers, as well as Def Jam’s marketing and promotion representative Nikki, “Promo Princess” and Atlantic Records Producer Michael Barns among others.
Students were educated about the entertainment industry, the event gave an inside look into the world of the music business.
Over the past few years the hip hop scene has taken a turn down south shining the spot light on cities such as Dallas, Atlanta, and Houston.
Dallas Recording artist Double A said “Hip-hop is not digressing it is just evolving and it is evolving to a stage where it doesn’t appeal to the same people as it did before”.
