Dr. Louis D. Anderson of the Department of Psychology and the Ujima Research Team sponsored film tributes to Thomas Sankara and Bob Marley in the Juvenile Justice Auditorium Feb. 16 and 17.
Anderson used both films to discuss revolutionaries Sankara and Marley, and the effects they had on their nations and their activism. The auditorium was packed with students and faculty members to honor both men for black history month.
Anderson said, “Today in society you can’t focus on the older generation, but it’s the younger people who can make a changes, we must reprogram their minds. It’s easier to encourage and condition the younger generation to adapt to better changes because society hasn’t set in their ways yet, they still have innocence.
