Remembering Zora Neal-Hurston

The Office of Equal Employment Opportunity celebrated the life of one of the most pre-eminent writers of African-American literature Zora Neale Hurston on Feb. 19 as part of the Black History Month series.

Faculty and students gathered in the MSC lounge to watch and discuss the documentary on the life of Hurston.

Faculty member Dr. Elizabeth Noel said, “What I believe is most important about this viewing on her life is how relevant what happen to her is to what we deal with now. History repeats itself. We, as a group, have lost sight of where we need to be, so this screening is just a step closer for us to show the younger generation where they come from, and the history of those that came before them.”
