Symposium urges leadership

Young women from all across campus gathered to hear some words of wisdom spoken at the Women’s Leadership Symposium held in the MSC on March 27th.

Coordinated by General Manager of University College Evette Barker, the panel featured Dr. Lisa K. Thompson, a professor in the College of Business, Dr. Dewaynna A. Cates, and Dr. Queen E. Martin, Asst. Professor of Health, who is also a professor in the College of Business.

The theme for this program was, “Why Is it Important for Women to be Educated?” Over 80 young women, and some men, watched and listened to a group of inspiring role models who are established, and would like to consider themselves a beacon of light to shine on a seemingly lost generation.
