Dr. Kishwar Joonas, assistant professor in the College of Business, was elected President of the Association of Collegiate Marketing Educators, during the annual conference in Dallas last month.
ACME is a professional marketing organization encouraging exploration and development of superior marketing practices from an academic and practitioner perspective.
For over seven years, Dr. Joonas has served ACME as the sessions chair, track chair, secretary, and vice-president. These positions lead up to her role as program chair in 2009-2010. Under her chairmanship, the conference chalked up four special sessions and workshops, 20 regular sessions, and 73 technical papers, with about 100 members registered.
In addition, she has conducted faculty and practitioner workshops on service-learning, in which collaborative student and university projects are showcased.
