Coach Pete

“Work hard, because if you give it your all, there is no need to look back,” Words of encouragement given by Prairie View A&M University Volley ball player Cheri Lindsay.

“Motivation for Lindsay and her teammates is the key to success; failure is not an option for this year’s season. Brianna McNeil said, “I feel the team’s dedication is ready to win a championship.

“The volleyball team at Prairie View A&M University has been putting in hard work for the fall season; from their two-a-day practices, to 6 a.m. runs and evening practices. One could decipher that the PVAMU Lady Panthers are READY. “We take care of business on and off the courts”, says Coach Alicia Pete. Not only do the players think they’re ready for a championship, but the coach has faith in them as well. Defense will be the main focus that the team will have to overcome, as it has been the main struggle in previous seasons, coach Pete continued “Defense wins championships.”

The current team has been playing together for the last four years. The team consists of seven graduating seniors, and they have been the guidance for the team. The PVAMU volleyball team currently has no team captain. Pete feels the seven seniors are her leaders. The drive and aggressive nature that they all possess keeps them at equal potential; by placing one of them at team captain would be nonetheless selling the duration of the players short.
