Feucht wins research award

Accounting Professor Fred Feucht recently received the KPMG Outstanding Published Manuscript Award for 2010 for Ph.D. dissertation.

Dr. Feucht and his coauthors, Dr. Stanley H. Kratchman, Dr. Murphy Smith, and Dr. Katherine T. Smith, all students of the Texas A&M University, were recognized for their research achievement at the American Accounting Association’s annual meeting held in August in San Francisco. The authors received plaques and a $1,000 awarded, funded by the foundation.

Feucht’s coauthored paper, “Changes in Gender Distribution among Accounting Academics,” published in International Journal of Critical Accounting in 2009, examines the distribution of men and women in accounting academia over a span of 20 years. Positions held include university faculty positions and in leadership roles in the American Accounting Association. His work also analyzes the participation of women who practice accounting. His findings have shown that the presence of women in faculty positions has increased in all academic ranks as well as accounting.
