Lady Panthers strike with volleyball win again

The Lady Panthers volleyball team is on a streak of victory in conference play after a successful 3-1 win over Grambling State University Wednesday in Grambling, La.

Domination was the key factor that the Panthers cultivated in the first match. Sharonda Lindsey of PVAMU, unaided, contributed 21 kills and 35 total attempted attacks throughout the course of the entire match.

Having already beaten the Lady Tigers of GSU, the Lady Panthers were able to use that as their initiative to gain the win in the first set, which ended 25-13.

The second set was much like the first. PVAMU came with more for drive and aggression, showing who the real cat of the jungle was. Jasmine Houston, contributed nine kills and 25 total attempted attacks, helping lead her team to a victory in the second set with a final score of 25-11.

The Lady Tigers grew weary, not ready to be blown out by the Lady Panthers; as a team, they were able to circumference a win.

Dorothy Brown and Davis Shawonna of PVAMU played a key factor in the win, Brown with seven consecutive kills and 27 total attempted attacks, and Davis with eight consecutive kills and 17 total attempted attacks. The set ended with a final score of 24-26.

PVAMU knew that they had come too far to go into overtime and too far to encounter a loss, which would break their streak of 4-0 in conference play.

Kelling together as team with high hopes of a win gave the Lady Panthers just that, a successful win of 25-14.
