Birmingham, Ala. – The SWAC is well represented with 27 players selected for the 2010 Russell HBCU Bowl, to be held on Dec. 18 in Atlanta, Ga.
Each school has a player named to the HBCU Bowl. Prairie View A&M leads the way with seven selections, while Grambling State has four players named to the Bowl.
Jackson State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff have three selections each while Alabama A&M, Southern, Alcorn State and Texas Southern all have two players named to the HBCU Bowl. Alabama State and Mississippi Valley State each have one player named to the All-Star roster.

The Russell Athletic HBCU Bowl, the nation’s premier senior all-star game, selects the top 100 draft-eligible seniors (including 10 alternate players) from all HBCU Football Conferences, the MEAC, SWAC, SIAC and CIAA.
Once the list is finalized, scouts from the NFL, CFL, UFL and Area Football will evaluate the quality of players during a one day Official Combine, administered by National Football Scouting of Indianapolis, Ind.
