The Ladies of the Smooth and Dominant Omega Gamma Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. hosted a valentine’s mixer for the students on the campus of Prairie View on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, to kick off Zeta Week, also known as “Finer Womanhood Week 2011”.
The event included many different desserts for students to taste along with music and a Valentine setting. Despite the holiday, there was still a great turn out for men and women. The theme for their week is “Prescriptions of a Finer Woman”.
This theme is based on different things that will make a well-balanced college woman. Wednesday they will be hosting a seminar entitled, “BLU Professions.”
They will be offering an understanding of the different acceptable attires in the business world, along with a panel of different Zetas already in the workforce offering networking tools to the audience.
Thursday is a freshman geared sleepover with building 40 residents only in University College. Sunday will be the ending of their week in the MSC Ballroom for their Founders Day Program.
Although Greek life has taken a pause, these ladies still strived hard to keep their organization afloat and will continue to strive hard to brand their principles of scholarship, service, sisterly love, and finer womanhood on the campus of Prairie View, one student at a time.
