Northwest campus growing in numbers

The Northwest Campus is continuing to grow in degrees and enrollment.

Michael L. McFrazier, vice provost and dean of Northwest Houston Center, said, “The university as a whole plans to have 12,000 students by 2015.”

As an official extension of the main campus, classes are only offered at the junior and senior levels in the subject areas of nursing, communication and business administration. Several degrees are offered at the graduate level as well.

McFrazier said, “We’re adding more quality and accessibility for the students. We want to bring Prairie View to the people.”

Expansions on extracurricular activities have been implemented.

“Education is more than just what you get in the classroom,” said McFrazier.
