Volleyball Struggles at Molten Invitational

 The Lady Panthers come out of the Molten Invitational 0-3 losing to Lehigh, Texas Christian, and the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, the University of Southern California Trojans in Ft Worth, Texas.
 Texas Christian (13-25,12-25, 11-25) and Lehigh (19-25, 19-25, 23-25) came on top with a great lead on the Lady Panthers in their tournament match.
 With a successful nine consecutive sets in the tournament the Lady Panthers fought hard.
 Junior setter Kelsey Espinosa made her imprint on the tournament making Molten Invitational All-Tournament team.
 Against USC the ladies struggle the first set being defeated 25-7.
Senior Breanna McNeil led in kills with a total of eight throughout the entire game followed by freshman Charae Caldwell and junior Kelsey Espinosa giving four kills. The Lady Panthers came out with a total of 24 kills for the game compared to USC’s 45 kills.
USC’s Lady Trojans lead every set by ten or more point.
The second set came out with the same results as the first with the lady Trojans on top 25-12.
Senior Breanna McNeil led in attacks with a total of 36, followed with 14 from junior Kelsey Espinoza and a total attack number of 82 from the team.
The third set the Lady Panthers fought to keep their chances alive, but still ended in defeat.
Sophomore LaKeisha Allen led in digs coming on top with 9 followed by 8 from senior Breanna McNeil, the ladies had a total 31 digs altogether.
The Lady Panthers Volleyball team currently holds a record of 2-13.
All of those losses have come in non-conference play, as the Panthers are 2-0 in SWAC play.
The Lady Panthers look to keep their perfect SWAC record as they host the Grambling State University Tigers.
