Panthers claw Bulldogs in Babydome

School spirit filled the William “Billy” J. Nicks Fieldhouse as the students watched the Prairie View A&M University basketball teams send Alabama A&M home with an “L” on their season record. The men won 65-46 and women 68-59.
 Each game was exciting, keeping people suspense every second.
 During the Lady Panthers conference game four players scored in the double digits. Latia “Puff” Williams led with a game high of 19 points. Following behind her was Kiara Etienne putting 15 points on the board in the first half.
Sophomores Jeanette Jackson and Larissa Scott gave the Panthers 13 points in their 30 minutes of playing time.
In the back and forth game against Alabama A&M the Lady Panthers prevailed and were resolute in bringing out an exciting win.
Prairie View men’s basketball team kept the heat on the Alabama Bulldogs all night as they ended the first half with a 31-19 lead.
Junior Josh Eleby was the pacemaker in the starting half going on an 11-2 run.
Letting the Bulldogs creep back, the Panthers had a momentum changer again when Demondre Chapman made a crowd-gasping dunk.
In the final minute of the game senior Jourdan Demuynck was fouled and removed from the game ending with 15 points.
The Panthers face off against rival Texas Southern University for the second time of the season Feb. 2 at Texas Southern University.
