Locator app effect

Have you seen the commercial for the site Been Verified?
Well, recently they launched updates to their free app which can help you do a simple background check on anyone. This could be helpful in many situations.
On a blind date, you may want to know a little more about the person you were meeting or if you were in dire need of a mechanic but had no idea whether you could trust the random shop down the road, you could use Been Verified.
Or, as payback for refusing to go on a date with a guy, he can search for you on this site and find all your information. He can then use that information to come by your house or your parent’s house.
Sounds like stalking made easy.
Here are some apps that do similar creepy things, and the best part is that they are all free. ZabaSearch is a site that does simple background checks. In a one-stop-shop you can find out someone’s criminal records, current address, birthplace and date, their parents information and current job information. Remember the girl in biology that you would not give your number to? Now she has your phone number and lots of other information due to this site. GPS Phone Locator can be found by searching locator on in any app store. This app just needs the phone number of the person you are trying to locate. As long as they have their location services turned on, you can find them. So now your girlfriend can look it up herself and you will never know. Phone Tracker is an interesting app because it locates anyone in a given area that has their locator services turned on. What a great way to meet new people right? While all these sites and apps may have their place, each one can clearly have a negative effect. Be aware of what is placed online about you and how your location services can be used against you.
