Sneakerheads vs. Hypebeast

The sneaker community is deteriorating rapidly by so-called “hypebeast.” These hypebeast are classified as individuals who only wear “hyped up” or popular shoes just to say they have them.
Senior Communications major Joseph Polk said, “There is a status level that comes with purchasing shoes.” Unfortunately, this status comes with liabilities regarding danger.
Long lines form outside during the holiday season, and most people would think that this is a sign of children preparing to tell Santa what they want for Christmas, yet instead the lines are stemming from the release of a new pair of sneakers.
Sneakers have become vital components of wardrobes, from entertainers who wear them while on promotional tours to fashionistas who love to get the latest pair as a showcase for their blog. There have been countless websites dedicated to the sneaker community, such as numerous Instagram and Facebook pages where people upload pictures of the sneakers. There are also contests dedicated to Instagram and Pinterest that people can pin their favorite designs, and the best board will receive a limited edition pair based of the number of likes. Many people also shop online retail sites like EBay, DrJays, and Flightclub LA to find special deals on retro sneakers, a thriving component of the sneaker community.
While there have been great features in the sneaker community as far as how technologically advanced some of the designs are, many companies have been perplexed by the amount of violence surrounding the release of the latest designs
There have been numerous incidents where people are injured by stampeding buyers attempting to get the hot commodity sneakers. Extreme cases where people were held at gunpoint and many brawls have occurred over the collectible items.
Sneaker summits, conventions where tennis shoe collectors, traders, and buyers meet to conclude business have become very popular in the sneaker world. Many females have even outnumbered males in the last couple of years. While movie enthusiasts have their film festivals, and comic book fanatics have Comic-Con, the sneaker summit is a place where like-minded sneaker lovers can come together to discuss what’s new.
