Students prove they can dance at talent show

Campus Activities Board put on a “So You Think You Can Dance” talent show, which was based on the real show, in the Opal Johnson Auditorium in the Memorial Student Center on Nov. 19.
Although the event was based around having fun, members of CAB put in long hours of hard work and dedication to make the show go on without a hitch.
CAB member and junior criminal justice major Brian Joseph said, “CAB always tries to take something we’ve seen or done and make it bigger and better. We really tried to present the event like the real show.”
Prior to the beginning of the event, the MSC was jam-packed full of people. Once the show actually began, it was clear to the audience how much hard work had gone into the event.
The talent on stage wowed members of the audience, in addition to the spotlights and stage enhancing fog machine. Before too long, the show became very interactive and the audience began to join in the dancing extravaganza.
Host Boosie Bad especially kept audience members entertained throughout the whole performance. Critiquing by judges followed each lively performance.
Freshman biology major Sharde’a Booth said, “I’m really speechless about winning, but I went out there and did my thing. I’m proud of myself.”
Junior criminal justice major Craig Irving said, “I’ve never won anything in my life, so to win third place was really an honor. I think it was the bit of creativity that the judges saw that added to the reason they picked me.”
