Panthers handle Houston-Victorian at home

 The Lady Panthers soccer team defended their home field against Houston-Victorian in a rainy 4-1 win, giving them a 3-8-season record.
 The Lady Panthers pressed forward the whole game starting out by showing their dominance the first minute of the game with senior Yosselyn Aguilar scoring the first goal with an assist from sophomore Ariana Roundtree. Sophomore goalkeeper Bianca Garza played the whole game collecting eight saves.
The second goal was by freshman Kara Ballard scoring her first for the season with an assist from senior Navyd Diaz. The defense the Panthers displayed was immovable and Houston-Victoria did not score until the 74th minute in the second period.
Freshman Breanna Powell scored the last goal in the first period scoring her second goal for the season to give the Lady Panthers a 3-0 lead to go into the second period. The Lady Panthers had three assists in the entire game, with a total of three corner kicks. In the 81st minute of the second period senior Yosselyn Aguilar scored the last goal of the game and her fourth for the season with an assist from sophomore Ariana Roundtree, capitalizing on their win.
The Lady Panthers will start competing against the SWAC conference Friday Oct. 5th starting with Grambling State University.
