The hill welcomes new Panther Dolls

Directed by Shante’ Moore, the 2012-2013 Panther Dolls are looking forward to another great and productive year to share their Panther spirit.
“It’s a new everything. Creative choreography, unique costumes, and even more promotional videos. The girls are truly setting themselves outside of the box this year,” said Moore.
Led by Colonel Carmen Porter, co-Captains Cierra Randle and Courtney Singleterry, and Lieutenant Kimyatta Anderson, this year’s dolls were chosen out of a very talented group of young ladies in both the spring and fall auditions.
“We wanted showmanship, technique, style, and sassiness…a complete dancer…a Panther Doll,” said Moore.
Dancing at both volleyball and basketball games, the Panther Dolls use every opportunity to prepare for their 2013 competition season. This will mark the first year of collegiate competition in the team’s history.
“We represent what I believe is the ultimate HBCU competition team because of how versatile each of us are…Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz, you name it we can do it…as a team,” says Randle, a senior social work major.
Randle says the Panther Dolls are not only making history, but also honing their skills to be a dance team. From the weakest to the strongest, the dolls are working together to strengthen their skills individually, but more notably as an entire team.
Creating a united front from the leadership to flow into the heart of the team, the dolls moved to an option of an officer line rather than two co-captains to balance duties, give additional structure, and create a holistic team.
Moving toward a hopeful competition victory this spring, the Panther Dolls utilize strength and conditioning days, dance practices, as well as their summer trip to a National Dance Association camp in South Carolina to foster their technique and bond them into a family away from home.
The Panther Dolls are proving to be an important facet of the hill, remaining loyal to the Panther truism of continued excellence and constant productivity; an eminent example of school spirit.
