Probate brings in big numbers

 Excitement filled the William “Billy” J. Nicks building as Neo’s from various organizations showcased their new loyalties to the cheering audience.
Organizations included, Omega Psi Phi with 6 new members, Zeta Phi Beta with 13 new members, and Gamma Sigma Sigma with 17 new members.
As a Prairie View A&M University tradition, students from different Greek-lettered organizations showcase their newly inducted members to family, friends, and the student body.
Campus Activities Board hosts springfest during the spring semester every school year, the equivalent to fall semester’s homecoming week.
Probate occurs every year during springfest as a start for the entire week. This is something the PVAMU family looks forward to every year.
Due to prior incidents, the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity was suspended for several years. However, this year’s probate was history in the making, marking the year the Alpha line returned to the yard with 47 members on the new Spring 2013 line.
During each probate, each organization is given time to put on a performance. Once their performance ends, the next organization takes the stage.
Part of the thrill of probate is the anticipation of new members unmasking themselves and spotting familiar faces throughout the entire night.
