UH All-Comers

While the women traveled to New York to participate in the new balance invitational, Prairie View A&M men’s track team had to stay in the state and take care of business in the UH All-Comers meet last weekend.

Starting with the 60-meter dash, junior Robert Williams ran very well in heat three, with a time of 7.13, placing 5th in the heat and 38th overall, fellow teammates Jaymon Levels, Robert Odhiambo, and Shanton Gore also competed in this event and performed respectively.

In the 200-meter dash, Williams placed second in heat 11, with a time of 22.76 and an overall finish of 18th. Levels, Odhiambo, Deron Jones and Jordan Hoover also competed in the 200-meter dash and finished in times very acceptable.

In the 800 meter, veteran and senior runner Brandon Hicks ran remarkably in heat number one, with a time of 1:55.88, and placed second in his heat, and second overall, sophomore Michael White and first year runners Jodale Burkley and. Fernando Hernandez also competed in this competition and performed admirably.

In the one mile run, junior Hernandez ran hard and the results showed in heat number three, placing sixth and an overall 29th finish with a time of 4:48.87, sophomores Patric Range and White also competed in the one mile run and performed very respectively.

In the 3000m, sophomore Errol Hampton placed 15th and 33rd overall, with a time of 9:40.55, Range, and freshman Juan Morales also competed in this event and were very proud of their performances.

In the 60-meter hurdles, William Donelson placed first in heat number two and an overall finish of 2nd with a time of 8.07. Sophomore Cordarren Solomon also competed in the 60-meter hurdles and performed well.

In the 400-meter relay, the combination of Donnellson, Hicks, Vernon, and Gray placed first in heat number two, and third overall with a time of 3:21.51, the second relay team consisting of Odhiambo, Samples, Williams, and Levels also ran outstanding, performing in heat number three and placed second in their heat, and 8th overall with a time of 3:25.95.
