Miss Prairie View A&M University, Chelsee Hill, hosted a seminar encouraging young women to take pride in home economic practices titled, “Home Ecs and Practices,” on March 3.
Dr. Eleanor Lister Rogers, a PV alumni, was the speaker for the evening. She advised students in the area of human sciences, including budgeting, food consumption, cleaning, and overall life lessons.
Hill said, “I believe the seminar was greatly appreciated. The value I wanted everyone to take from the seminar was to be more self-sufficient. There is nothing that technology cannot do these days, but if there were to come a day when technology was not able to support us we, men and women, need to be able to support ourselves with basic life skills.”
