The Prairie View A&M University Student Government Association Judicial Panel Appeals Committee made a ruling on the presidential and vice presidential election contest results appeals.
Priscilla Barbour and Jarrick Brown are the 2013-2014 president and vice president.
After receiving well over 1,000 votes, Demario Lowe and Justin Warren were named president and vice president by the election committee April 2.
Immediately after the announcement, Barbour and Brown contested the election results citing allegations that students were obtaining others’ log in information to vote and were illegally campaigning in the Willie A. Tempton Sr. Memorial Student Center, University Village and other spots around campus.
In a hearing last week, the SGA judicial board addressed the cheating allegations and in unanimous vote named Barbour and Brown the 2013-2014 president and vice president.
Within the allotted seven days, Lowe and Warren appealed stating extreme bias on the part of the judicial board.
Chief Justice Darius Kelley then created a judicial panel appeals committee.
They voted to throw out the first appeal four to one and threw out the second appeal 3-1-1 Wednesday afternoon.
