The 2009-2010 Miss Prairie View A&M University, Chelsee Hill, hosted the annual “Miss PV Soiree,” in the student lounge on April 21.
With a total of seven contestants participating in this year’s pageant, the event was assembled to give the student body an opportunity to gain insight about each contestant.
During the seminar, Hill questioned each contestant about sensitive issues around campus and their plans of action in the event that they were chosen to be Miss Prairie View.
Sophomore agriculture and animal science major, Michelle Chapman said, “It was extremely helpful since it allowed students to pose questions that were of concern to the contestants.”
Topics included building relationships with the freshman class, strengthening relationships between sexes, and feelings if contestants weren’t chosen as the winner of the pageant.
Sophomore agricultural and animal science major, Troy Collins said, “This seminar was helpful because it gave a personal insight into each contestant’s views and each contestant’s personal life.”
