Panthers finally win away game

As regular season comes to an end, the Prairie View men’s basketball team won the last two away games bringing in an 8-8 record with two home games left.
The Panthers have been in a road for the entire season, losing every away game.
Their losing streak was recently broken as they wiped out both Alabama State and Alabama A&M.
Ryan Gesiakowski was a big factor against the Hornets, shooting 4 for 8 from the field adding to his 16-point performance. Jourdan DeMuynck was also a top scorer of the game, contributing 17 points.
The Panthers went on a 9-0 run to close out the game. They quickly picked up the pace in the second half outscoring the Alabama State Hornets 41-27 and making an effortless win of 65-56.
Facing the Alabama A&M Bulldogs was anything but smooth for the Panthers as they went into overtime to defeat the Bulldogs.
As top team scorer once again, DeMuynck hit a double double racking up 27 points and 11 rebounds.
A major factor for going into overtime was Carl Blair’s pressure on the Bulldog’s offense.
DeMuynck gave the Panthers their first points in overtime with a tip in, followed by a jumper from Jules Montgomery.
Keeping the heat on Alabama A&M, Prairie View prevented any scoring from the team and hit a jumper with 2:02 left. They kept up the swift pace ending the game with a win 61-57.
The Panthers hope to end the last two games with wins as they play Alcorn State Thursday at the William “Billy” J. Nicks Building at 7:30 p.m.
