UC shares the Gospel through song during resident appreciation week

University College ministered to students through song during the fall Gospel Explosion Thursday evening in the All Faiths Chapel.

The UC staff put on the program in light of Resident Appreciation Week for their American Campus Communities property. Mr. and Miss University College Kenneth West and Priscilla Barbour hosted the program.

The program consisted of several performances by the University College Gospel Choir, the Baptist Student Movement choir and praise team, PV Mime, Morgan Roe, and many more.

“I enjoyed the praise dancers and PV Mime the most,” said Shanequa Valentine freshman forensic science major. “The whole show had so much energy that you could feed off of it. They expressed a lot of emotion, and made me feel as though I was at my home church in Harker Heights.”

Freshman nursing major, Michelle Tyler agreed. “I loved the song selections because the singers showed many emotions, and you could actually feel what they were singing about. Next year, I look forward to seeing some more of the mimes,” she said.

University College Community Assistant Carrie Newman said, “The UC Gospel Explosion was a great experience. The students were given both entertainment and inspiration from all of the acts. It is definitely something I look forward to next year.”
