Welcome to the beginning of our Happy Ending,” is what Clifford Harris, better known as T.I. tweeted upon being released from the Forest City Correctional Facility in Arkansas, as he traveled to a halfway house. However, a journey that was suppose to be bring the self-proclaimed “King of The South” closer to his family, friends, and fans, turned out to be the exact opposite.
The Grammy Award-winning artist was set to be released from prison after serving an 11-month sentence for violating probation. According to sources, he was arrested for possession of controlled substances in Los Angeles, CA last September.
He reportedly used a luxury tour bus to transport himself on the 375-mile journey to Dismas Charity halfway house in was in violation of his initial probationary terms.
TIP’s lawyer, Steve Sadow wrote in an email to Reuters, “We are awaiting the opportunity to quickly resolve whatever the issue may be that the Federal Bureau of Prisons has with T.I.’s method of transportation — bus — from Arkansas to Atlanta, so that T.I. can return to the hallway house to complete the remaining days of his sentence.”
The Federal Bureau of Prisons website confirmed that T.I. is currently being held at the Atlanta penitentiary and will be released September 29.
According to TheInsider.com, VH1 has already announced its ideas to premiere a reality show for the rap star and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris, displaying their behind the scenes, surreal life, while onto the path of walking the straight and narrow “for good”.
However, due to recent circumstances, filming will be postponed for a later date.
