Prairie View, Texas, was named the second best place to raise children in America, according to a survey conducted by Bloomberg and Businessweek.com.
The ranking results were released Dec. 14. The criteria for the rankings were based on the cost of living, number of schools, school performance and crime rate.
Out of the 5,418 small cities, towns, and villages across the U.S. evaluated, Prairie View was runner up to Gatesville, Texas.
Senior English major Jacqueline Sadberry said, “I would definitely raise my children here since I was raised here as well. Prairie View is an ideal city. It’s quiet and everything is right where you need it. There’s not a lot of chaos for your kids to get into.”
