The Prairie View A&M University Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team will test its educational outreach projects against the projects of 60 other SIFE Teams at the 2005 SIFE Regional Competition and Career Opportunity Expo on April 10‑11 at the Adams Mark Hotel in Dallas, Texas.Students In Free Enterprise encourages students to take what they are learning in the classroom and apply it to real‑life situations, using their knowledge to make life better in their communities by teaching the principles of free enterprise. SIFE has held several seminars such as Writing a Seminar and Starting a Small Business.
Teams are judged on how well their projects taught others the principles of free enterprise, business ethics, free markets in a global economy, entrepreneurship and personal financial success skills.
Regional champions named at 25 competitions held around the country will present their projects at the 2005 SIFE USA National Exposition.
Meanwhile, the SIFE Team is set to host its 2005 Changing the World Talent Showcase Part III, on April 23 at 7 p.m. in the MSC Auditorium. Billed as “no ordinary talent show,” the event will feature 20 of the university’s most talented and progressive students, who will showcase their talents in singing, rapping and spoken-word, as they compete for the Best Talent Awards and cash prizes.
Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. April 5, in Room 104A New Science Building.
Students will be judged by representatives of the entertainment industry and other local officials. Admission is $3 pre-sale and $5 at the door.
