Lady Panthers lose with turnovers, poor shooting

The Lady Panthers of Prairie View A&M University came out strong, holding Louisiana Tech to four of their first sixteen field goal attempts. However, the Lady Panthers were incapable of obtaining a win and the game ended 79-46 Saturday at the Thomas Assembly Center.

Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech University took advantage of the 15 first half turnovers that PVAMU exhibited along with their 20 failed attempts at putting the basketball where it belonged in the basket.

LTU maintained the lead over PVAMU the entire first half. With 17 seconds left on the clock to end the half, LTU carried a 19-point lead, setting the score 35-16.

Playing with little to no momentum, the Lady Panthers were held to a low 6-of-25 shooting from the field, good for 24 percent in the first half as Louisiana Tech shot 40.6 percent, which is good for 13-of-32 from the field.

LTU leading by 32 points at the 11:10 mark set reality into the eyes of PVAMU that something must be done to change this. But the Lady Panthers would get no closer than 25 points for the remainder of regulation.

Guard Latia Williams had a team-high 14 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Siarra Soliz added 11 point of her own.
