There was the usual cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn but there were only about ten activity stations at this year's inflatable carnival.

The carnival has been a homecoming tradition for quite some time. However, after this year, some students are questioning whether or not it should return for next year. Erica Pointer, a sophomore communications major said, "Last year's carnival was a 100% better than this year's. There wasn't very much to do."

One major dissatisfaction that was expressed by the student body was the absence of the Sumo Wrestling station. For those who don't know, the Sumo activity required each contestant to put on a stuffed suit that simulated the large size of a sumo wrestler complete with a helmet that had a ponytail. Then, they started to fight. For those who have never seen this done before, you have missed out on something that is ridiculously hilarious. Also, some of the activities were a little "worn out" such as the Velcro Wall. Each person put on a suit that was covered with the sticky part of Velcro while they jumped up onto a wall that was covered in the soft part of the Velcro. The concept of the whole activity was to stick to the wall, but the students may as well have jumped onto the wall without the suit on because not only did they fall down as quickly as they jumped up, many of them bounced off the cushioned area.

Although the carnival was short on activities, you couldn't tell by its attendance. The crowd was tremendous in size and overflowed onto the closed off portion of the parking lot. While students were standing in line for an activity or for the free food, they were entertained by a live D.J. who played the latest hits. Furthermore, a PV party isn't one unless they play the PV Shuffle. It was fun to see the students express their school spirit. Amazingly, there were no fights!
