What are you going to do?

Being one of the editors for the paper, I am constantly listening to students' reactions about what was printed in the paper every week. I want to see if what I am doing, and the stories I assign for others to write are appreciated by the student body.

Last week I noticed a student looking at the newspaper, and he happened to be looking at one of my pages. He was talking very loudly, and complained about how one of the published stories meant nothing to him.

In my mind I began to think, 'What is he going to do about it?' I asked myself this because I complain, and I witness students around campus complaining also. But what is a complaint without a solution to the problem?

The newspaper's efforts are to try and bring the best PV news forward, and be entertaining all the same. It is easy to complain about what should and should not be in the paper, but what steps have you taken to put forth ideas?

"The Panther" is the students' newspaper. What that means is that the paper belongs to each and every student at PV. Instead of complaining about the hard work that is put into the paper every week, be a part of the solution.

How can you be a part of the solution? The Panther has meetings every Monday at 5 p.m. at the MSC in room 219, and we have an e-mail address: panther@pvamu.edu. Bring all your ideas and complaints so The Panther staff can help solve the problem.

Next time you find yourself complaining about material in your paper, ask yourself, "Have I done anything about it."
