The Office of Human Resources sponsored the first annual benefits fair, geared to provide faculty and staff with information on the benefits they receive from the university.
Becky Standlee, of the Office of Human Resources, said she was "surprised at the turnout, next year we want to put something in the paper to get the faculty and staff informed."
Vendors and representatives from the ORP, optional retirement plans, were in attendance to give information on services they provide, such as dental, vision, and life insurance for all faculty and staff, and to answer any questions concerning any plans they currently have.
Standlee said about three percent of those in attendance were faculty and 97 percent were staff.
Jane Smith, employment specialist, said, "those who didn't attend missed out on a really good event, one that was very beneficial for them to learn more about their benefits."
Faculty and staff can contact the Office of Human Resources for more information.
