The annual College of Business career fair was held Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the Memorial Student Center ballroom. The event drew a sizable crowd of business students, all anxious to meet with companies about potential employment opportunities.

This year's event was aimed at all classifications of students, from freshmen to seniors. There were internship opportunities for underclassmen and employment opportunities for upperclassmen students.

Many of the industry's most competitive companies participated in the event including Amegy Bank, Army ROTC, Boeing, Comptroller of Public Accounts, Duke Energy, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Farm Credit Bank, FDIC, Federal Reserve of Dallas, Houston, CPA Society, ING Kelly Services, Republic Beverage, Sherwin Williams, Sterling Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank among others.

Senior Beverly Myers said, "I was very impressed by the number of companies that participated in the fair. There were several companies there that I was interested in meeting with. The event gave me the opportunity to get my resume out to those companies."

Students who attended the career fair received interviewing tips and were able to speak with recruiters about potential employment opportunites. The College of Business is also compiling a resume book to send out resume CDs to assist students in their employment search.

Senior Aaryin Collins said, "The career fair was very informative. I am not a business major but because there was such a vast selection of companies at the fair, I was still able to network and find out what other opportunities they had to offer."
