The male leaders of Prairie View held a meeting Tuesday in the student lounge on the second floor of the Willie Albert Tempton Memorial Student Center.

The council, consisting of a number of male leaders, speaks weekly concerning a number of weekly topics that they feel the men on campus should be aware of to better themselves and be progressive in their manhood.

Andre Evans, Student Government Association president and council member, said, "I feel the seminar was very successful. We received positive feedback from the surveys that we collected."

This seminar was the beginning step toward a successful year in male leadership. There was a question and answer session on how the council can better assist male students on campus. Questions like "What do you expect from the Men's Leadership Council?" "What is a male?" and "What is leadership?" were asked during the forum. The council provided firm feedback.

Dr. Michael McFrazier, associate provost for academic and student affairs, Mark Williams, Mr. Prairie View A&M University 2007-2008, and Mayor Frank Jackson serve on the council. The panel was informative and ready to disclose which steps are needed to take leadership to the next level on campus.

"There was a good turnout and there is always room for improvement," Williams said.

The council meets every Wednesday on the second floor of the A.I. Thomas building in the academic affairs office.
